When it comes to beating the summer heat, central air conditioners are often the first option that comes to mind. But today’s high-efficiency heat pumps offer advanced cooling performance while also providing reliable warmth when needed. If you're looking for an energy-efficient way to cool your home and save money in the long run, a heat pump could be the right choice for you.

Why More Homeowners Choose Heat Pumps in OntariO

Heat pumps deliver powerful, energy-efficient cooling by transferring heat out of your home rather than generating cold air. This means lower electricity use and reduced monthly cooling costs, especially during long, hot summers in the GTA.

Various government rebate programs are available to help offset the cost of purchasing and installing a heat pump system. Many rebates fall under broader Canadian heat pump incentive programs designed to support energy-efficient home upgrades. We're here to help you find the right rebate program to help you save money.

What is a Heat Pump?

A heat pump is an advanced heating and cooling system that uses electricity to transfer heat from one place to another. In cooling mode, it removes heat from inside your home and moves it outdoors, working much like a high-efficiency air conditioner.

How Heat Pumps Keep Your home cool

During the summer, a heat pump extracts heat from the air inside your home and releases it outdoors. This process keeps your indoor environment consistently cool and comfortable, even during extreme heat waves.

Unlike traditional air conditioners, heat pumps can also reverse the process in colder months, making them a year-round comfort solution. But for many homeowners, the biggest advantage is their ability to provide efficient, reliable cooling throughout the hottest months of the year without breaking the bank.

Heat Pump Benefits

Energy Efficiency

Heat pumps are one of the most efficient cooling systems available. Because they move heat instead of creating cold air, they use less electricity compared to traditional air conditioning systems, helping reduce your summer energy bills.

All-in-One System

While many homeowners install heat pumps primarily for cooling, they also provide supplemental heating when needed, eliminating the need for separate systems in many homes.

consistent comfort

Modern heat pumps provide steady, even cooling throughout your home, reducing hot spots and humidity for improved indoor air comfort.

Long-Term Reliability

Heat pumps are built for durability, with many systems lasting 10+ years when properly maintained. Regular service helps ensure peak cooling performance season after season.

Types of Heat Pumps

When looking at heat pumps, there are two main types to consider: air source and ground source (also known as geothermal). You also need to consider if you want to go fully electric or a combination of electric and natural gas or propane.

Air source heat pumps take heat from the air outside your home and use it for both heating and cooling in the summer. These air source heat pump systems are the easiest to install and, therefore, a more popular choice in the GTA.

Ground source (geothermal) heat pumps require the installation of piping into the ground. The main advantage of ground source heat pumps is their unmatched efficiency year-round, as the ground temperature remains constant. It is the most efficient and cost-effective method of home comfort.

You can replace your current heating and cooling system with one that uses electric heat pump heating exclusively or a hybrid heat pump system that uses mostly electricity but relies on fossil fuels to supplement your heat on very cold days.

We have both electric and hybrid systems that will qualify for up to a $6,500 rebate through Enbridge Gas enhanced Home Efficiency Rebate Plus (HER+) program.
